Syllabus

Maths at St George's follows the Edexcel specification from Year 7 to Year 13. More detailed information about what will be taught can be found on the appropriate year page.

Key Stage 3 runs through Years 7 and 8.
Key Stage 4 runs through Years 9, 10 and 11.
Key Stage 5 is taught in Years 12 and 13

Students are put in sets following an assessment when they start. Set changes can occur and usually happen following End of Term assessments.

Equipment

You are expected to bring the following equipment to all Maths lessons:

  • Black/Blue Pen for normal written work.
  • Green pen for self/peer assessment.
  • Pencil, sharpener and rubber.
  • Ruler, protractor and pair of compasses.
  • A scientific calculator, we recommend for anything up to GCSE the Casio FX-83 or Casio FX-85.*
*However if you are considering A-Level afterwards then the Casio FX-CG50 is better for the additional A-Level work.
