Our Sixth Formers become ‘big fish in a small pool’ where they are expected to take on responsibilities and become leaders in upholding school discipline and ethos. It is no accident that the Sixth Form building is at the centre of our campus.
Sixth Formers contribute to the wider life of the School as part of our ‘one school community’ ethos. This may involve running the tuck shop, helping with library or computer supervision, ‘buddying’ younger or foreign students and getting involved with school theatre productions.
Standards are high at St George’s and we are proud of the results our students achieve at AS and A-level.
Students enjoy excellent facilities and outstanding teaching to ensure maximum success based on individual potential.
Students have a wide choice of 22 academic and vocational A-level subjects. Choices offered are regularly reviewed to meet students’ requirements.
External speakers and practitioners meet with students to offer advice and discuss the huge range of options available to students wishing to pursue further study in higher education or embark on careers in business industry or financial services.
In September 2012 our Sixth Form students progressed to further their studies at some of the most prestigious Universities, including Leeds, to study Medicine; Bristol, Electronic and communications engineering; Warwick, Sport and fitness management; Manchester, Civil engineering; Durham, Accounting and finance, with another student studying Music.
