There is no verbal or non-verbal reasoning paper. However there is a spelling and reading age test and also a dictation exercise.
Children with learning support needs can be given extra time and we would like to be given as much information as possible before the exam on any problems a child may have so we can take it into account when marking the exam papers.
We also request a confidential report sheet from the child’s junior school and look carefully at this when deciding whether or not to offer a place.
A ‘taster’ day is recommended after the assessment morning to help the child and school with the decision making.
Entry is by formal application form, supported by a confidential reference from their school.
