Curriculum
Key Stage 3

In Years 7-9 our curriculum covers the full range of text types and we study a novel, poetry, Shakespeare play and non-fiction texts with all years in preparation for GCSE study. In Year 9 there is an emphasis on developing the skills required for GCSE as a transition to Key Stage 4.

Key Stage 4

In Years 10-11 students study for their GCSE pathway.

All students study for:

  • Pearson Edexcel English Language IGCSE
  • AQA English Literature GCSE.
  • The majority of students sit a GCSE examination in English Language and English Literature, but a small number, whilst they study the Literature texts, may only sit the examination for English Language.

    Key Stage 5

In Year 12 and 13 we follow AQA English Literature Specification A.
