Welcome to the Economics Department at St George’s School, where we foster a passion for data, graphs and debates.
We are committed to developing a deep understanding of economics and the impacts it has on our students lives. Through the use of Quality First Teaching we engage all students and nurture a passion for economical thought and debate on every day decisions we make and current affairs.
Through a devoted team of teachers we provide a dynamic learning environment which allows students develop their inquisitive minds, equipping them with skills and knowledge that will allow success in their educational journey and future careers.
Economics at St George’s follows the AQA specification from Year 9 to Year 13. More detailed information about what will be taught can be found on the appropriate year page.
Key Stage 4 runs through Years 9, 10 and 11.
Key Stage 5 is taught in Years 12 and 13.
You are expected to bring the following equipment to all Economics lessons:
- Black/Blue Pen for normal written work.
- Green pen for self/peer assessment.
- Pencil, sharpener, ruler and rubber.
- A calculator
