Curriculum
Key Stage 3

Students work on a rotational basis at Key Stage 3 (Year 7 and 8) with Design Technology, Photography and ICT.

This gives the students 8 weeks in each subject.

At the end of Year 8, students can choose to carry on with Food Technology as a GCSE option.

Key Stage 4

Key Stage 4 runs through Years 9, 10 and 11.
GCSE students study from the AQA GCSE 8585 Specification.

Subject Specific Equipment

Students are expected to bring the following equipment to all practical Food lessons:

  • Your ingredients
  • Suitable sized container
  • Oven proof dish (if needed)
Facilities

We have a dedicated food room that includes 7 electric ovens with built in grills and 7 induction hobs. There is a range of electrical equipment such as whisks, blenders and food processors, as well as equipment and utensils you would expect to find for working with food. Aprons are provided in the department.
