Uniform
At St George’s School Edgbaston, we aim to achieve standards of excellence in all areas of school life including appearance, and as such we wear our uniform with pride.
We believe that when worn correctly, the uniform represents the standards that the school expects to achieve – it instils pride, supports positive behaviour and encourages identity with, and support for, our school ethos. We also feel strongly that it represents equality for all students, nurturing cohesion and promoting good relations between different groups of pupils. Wearing a smart uniform, including PE kit, is an important factor in encouraging a disciplined ethos at St George’s.
Students are expected to be dressed correctly on their journey to and from school, as well as in school. Please note that fashion items are not permitted. Parent/Carers support in this matter is expected and appreciated.
Prep School Uniform
Pre-School
- White polo shirt
- Navy jogging bottoms
- Navy blue V-neck jumper with logo
- Girls may wear the ‘Taylor’ tartan pinafore
Summer term option (after Easter until October half term): Girls may wear summer dress.
Reception - Year 6
Boys
- White shirt (long or short sleeve) – Reception wear white polo shirts
- School tie – a choice of clip-on or tie-up
- Navy blue V-neck jumper with logo
- Navy blue blazer with logo
- Charcoal grey trousers
- Grey socks
Summer term (after Easter until October half term):
Boys can wear charcoal grey shorts and grey socks.
Girls
- White button-to-neck blouse (long or short sleeve) – Reception wear white polo shirts
- School tie – a choice of clip-on or tie-up
- Navy blue cardigan with logo OR V-neck jumper with logo
- Navy blue blazer with logo
- ‘Taylor’ tartan pinafore. Girls from Year 3 may opt for the ‘Taylor’ tartan skirt instead
- Navy blue tights or white socks (no knee-high socks). Additionally, black cycling shorts can be worn under a pinafore or skirt, provided they are not visible.
Summer term (after Easter until October half term):
Girls to wear revere collar short-sleeve white blouse with logo (no tie) or summer dress.
PE Kit
- Navy and white AKOA unisex polo shirt OR games jersey with logo
- Navy and white AKOA shorts with logo
- Navy and white AKOA track pants with logo – girls may opt for navy blue AKOA leggings with logo
- A choice of either navy and white AKOA hoody OR mid-layer with logo
- Navy and white SGSE football socks
Bags
Pre-School – Year 2
- St George’s book bag
Year 3 - Year 6
- St George’s ruck sack
Additional Uniform Requirements
- Coats: Plain dark blue or black
- Shoes: Plain black, no trainers or boots
- Accessories: Small Stud Earrings. No Smartwatches

PE Kit
- The correct kit should be worn for all PE lessons and fixtures.
- It is not to be worn around school. The only exception is when team members have been instructed by a member of staff to change early.
