Curriculum
Key Stage 3
In Years 7 and 8, students are introduced to key historical skills and study a broad range of periods and topics. Students develop their ability to use evidence, analyse sources, explain change and continuity, and make supported judgements.
At the end of Year 8, students can choose to continue the subject by selecting GCSE History as an option.
Key Stage 4
Key Stage 4 runs through Years 9, 10 and 11.
Students follow the Pearson Edexcel GCSE (9–1) History (1HI0) specification. Throughout the course, students develop their historical knowledge, examination technique and ability to analyse and evaluate historical evidence.

Students study:
- Crime and Punishment in Britain, c.1000–Present
- Early Elizabethan England, 1558–88
- Superpower Relations and the Cold War, 1941–91
- Weimar and Nazi Germany, 1918–39
Key Stage 5
Key Stage 5 runs through Years 12 and 13.
A-Level students follow the Pearson Edexcel A-Level History (9HI0) specification. Students develop advanced skills in historical analysis, source evaluation, interpretation and constructing substantiated judgements.

- Russia in Revolution, 1894–1924
- The British Experience of Warfare, c.1790–1918
- A coursework assignment
