From 28 September to 1 October 2025, Year 10 students enjoyed a Maths trip to Greece, visiting a range of significant historical and cultural sites in and around Athens.

During the trip, students visited the Acropolis, the Olympic Stadium and the Herakleidon Museum, where they learned about the engineering behind some of the city’s magnificent monuments, as well as the mathematical ratios used in their design and construction.

Students also had the opportunity to take a day trip to the archaeological site of Delphi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There, they immersed themselves in the fascinating world of ancient Greek mythology and explored ruins dating back to the sixth century BC.

The trip provided a fantastic opportunity for students to see how mathematics, engineering, history and culture are closely connected, bringing their classroom learning to life in an inspiring setting.
