Students were treated to a day of Science when they attended GCSE Science Live! at Symphony Hall.

The day involved a series of lectures from Professor Robert Winston, Dr Hannah Critchlow, Dr Giles Yeo, Dr Helen Czerski and Professor Jim Al - Khalili.

These events offer students the chance to see and hear five of Britain’s top scientists, all working at the cutting edge of their specialisms who have been carefully chosen to engage their audience.

All students received a useful booklet with details about each scientist, the lectures and some general articles about studying science and working as scientists – as well as a number of pieces from an experienced chief examiner on success with Science GCSE as there were a number of links to the GCSE examination criteria.
