Showtime is Back!

Congratulations to over 55 students who took part in Showtime 4 on the 30th and 31st of March 2022.  Students performed to a sell-out audience of over 150 people on both nights. The cast and production team successfully took on the challenge of transporting the audience through a night of musical favourites linked to the theme of ‘Broadway’.

This was the first Upper School production we have been able to perform since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.  Students and teachers came together to follow a rigorous rehearsal schedule and take on some big musical numbers including songs and performances from La La Land, Hairspray, Cats, The Lion King, Wicked, Mamma Mia and some iconic numbers such as ‘We Will Rock You’ and ‘Hey Jude’.  There were impressive performances vocally, as well as some excellent pieces performed by the School Band. A range of dance routines combined to really get the audience moving in their seats!

Students from Year 7 to Year 13 were involved in all aspects of the production of Showtime and behind the scenes, students also took part in set and prop design as well as sound engineering and lighting. We were also well supported by St. George’s PTA. This kind of production relies on the hard work and dedication of staff and in particular, Mr Ashford and Miss Munro – who had oversight of the show.

This was a real team performance with lots of collaboration between students of all ages and we are so proud of them all – the audience were certainly left wanting more!
