Our Enrichment Programme

Every Wednesday afternoon, students partake in Enrichment Activities. This is a unique opportunity to learn new skills as part of our ethos of maximising individual achievement and creating opportunities for personal development.

These activities enable pupils to make their own choices about how to enrich their school life, help them to develop their social skills, as well as offering them new opportunities outside the classroom.

There are 16 activities in the upcoming term on a Wednesday afternoon which pupils and staff are engaged in and committed to for the whole term.

Here at St George's we believe that the Enrichment programme is an essential part in promoting employability, supporting academic attainment and life skills in pupils. These activities have an explicit focus on developing Communication, Self-Belief, Teamwork, Self-Management and Problem-Solving skills which are deemed essential by employers.

Within our large range of options, we have sporting activities such as Judo, Tennis and Skiing to training for fixtures in Football and Basketball, Performing Art School of Rock for budding actors, World Cuisine to develop cookery skills and Debating Club to learn how to win debates in a range of topic areas.

Each term we introduce new and exciting choices, so pupils are able to broaden their skills through a range of activities. Every term, students pick their top 3 preferences of activities in order, and we hope to offer students their first choice where possible. Most activities are without cost, while some activities do require a small charge for specialist coaching, equipment and materials.

Year 7 Students will be asked to pick 3 options during transition day. Students will take part in one of these activities throughout the whole of term. Please be aware that they may not get their first choice. Please have any conversations with your child beforehand.

If activities do not get enough interest they will not go ahead. Refunds for paid activities are not possible so pick wisely. You will not be able to change activities during the Term.
