Developing independence

Promoting Well-being

As a Silver Award Rights Respecting School, a pupil’s character, their relationship with themselves and others, and the role they play in both the internal and wider community are fundamental in forming well rounded individuals.

PSHE lessons run weekly for all years. Class teachers follow an excellent scheme which looks at a huge variety of age-appropriate topics such as kindness, feelings, health, puberty and resilience. The scheme covers a range of important topics that help pupils become well rounded, informed individuals who will be able to flourish in their lives beyond St George’s.

We believe that pupils who leave the school do so with confidence and security, giving themselves a firm foundation to build on and, through the PSHE programme, this is what we aim for and believe we do provide.

In the Lower School we believe that children learn best when they are happy, and the tailored pastoral care for every child ensures they make the most of every day at St George’s.
