Exam Results 2018
St George’s School can report another excellent set of GCSE and A-Level results for 2018.
A Level (A2) and BTEC
91% of grades achieved by students at A-Level (A2) were A*-E, with 24% of grades being A*-B.
Of the students undertaking BTEC qualifications, over 93% of students passed, with 72% of those students achieving a Merit grade or higher. 48% of all entries at BTEC were at Distinction grade or higher.
Year 11 GCSE
Overall 83% of year 11 students gained 5 or more GCSEs at grade 9-4 (A*-C).
75% of students achieved 5 or more GCSEs at grade 9-4 (A*-C) including English and Maths.
Overall 83% of all the results of all entries at GCSE were at grade 9-4 (A*-C).
The school achieved a 99.7% pass rate, with all students achieving 5 or more GCSEs at grade 9-1 (A*-G).
The school had over 80% 9-4 (A*-C) passes in Art (100%), Biology (100%), Business (80%), Chemistry (100%), Chinese (100%), Computing (89%), English Language (88%), English Literature (100%), Food and Nutrition (100%), History (84%), ICT (86%), Mathematics (80%), Physical Education (90%), Physics (100%), Photography (100%), Religious Studies (84%) and Spanish (100%).
Year 10 GCSE Maths
After careful consideration and consultation with students and parents we entered the majority of our Year 10 cohort for GCSE maths. The results have been extremely pleasing.
63% of those entered achieved a GCSE at a grade 4 (C) or higher.
14% of those entered achieved a GCSE at grade 9-7 (A*-A).
84% of those entered achieved a GCSE at a grade 4 (C) or higher.
40% of those entered achieved a GCSE at grade 9-7 (A*-A).
