Sixth Form

As well as continuing the education of pupils already at St. George’s, we welcome applications to our Sixth Form from suitably qualified candidates from other schools. We are also joined by a number of overseas students, particularly from China. We give careful thought to the needs of our Sixth Form pupils, recognising that these two years are an important transition stage between school and Higher Education or a career, as well as being a vital part of an individual’s personal, social and intellectual development.

• We offer a wide variety of subjects at A and AS level, with students generally taking three or four subjects at AS level in the Lower Sixth. Most or all of these subjects may be converted into full A levels by following the corresponding A2 course in the Upper Sixth, with the possibility of taking further subjects at AS level.
• Further opportunities for development are provided throughout the Sixth Form programme. This includes teaching leadership skills and participation in sporting activities.
• A course of Personal and Social Education includes visits from external speakers.
