Burma & China Appeal

Burma and China Appeal

There will be a non- school uniform day on Friday 23rd May in aid of the Burma and China Appeal.

The pupils of St. George's once again showed their caring side when they collectively requested our support of the people of Burma and China. The recent cyclone which has devastated Burma has seen the death toll now reach more than 22,000, with another 41,000 people missing. Thousands more have no clean water or shelter. In China, tens of thousands of people have been killed or injured by the devasting earthquake that struck south west China on 12 May. Many more have lost their homes and the death toll continues to rise.

This Friday the pupils will be asked to pay a donation if they are not wearing school uniform. There are other activities currently being planned to help boost the funds, following the success of the disco organised to raise funds for the Tsunami disaster which occured in December 2004.

We are proud that our pupils always put others first and they really shine when there is an important issue to support.
